Embark on an unforgettable day trip to the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, where you’ll experience the grandeur of Africa’s highest peak. We offer you the choice between the Marangu Route and the Lemosho Route for this exhilarating day trip. Both routes promise incredible views and a taste of the mountain’s beauty, but the Marangu Route is often considered the most recommended for day trips due to its gradual ascent, well-maintained path, and picturesque surroundings. With its distinct advantages, this route offers an unforgettable experience even for those with limited time.
Your adventure begins early in the morning, as we will pick you up directly from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. Our professional guide will greet you, and you’ll be transferred to the base of Mount Kilimanjaro to start your trek. Upon arrival, you’ll be fitted with all the necessary equipment, and our guide will provide a comprehensive briefing about the day’s hike. The Marangu Route begins at the park gate, where you’ll start your journey through lush rainforests. This unique section of the mountain is known for its verdant vegetation, chirping birds, and the occasional sight of colobus monkeys.
As you ascend, the trail gradually opens up to reveal stunning views of the mountain’s slopes and the surrounding valleys. After about 3–4 hours of steady hiking, you will reach the Mandara Hut, located at an altitude of 2,700 meters. Here, we’ll take a well-deserved break and have a hot, delicious lunch, providing you with the perfect opportunity to relax and rejuvenate while enjoying the incredible panoramic views. During lunch, you’ll have a chance to discuss the climb with your guide, ask questions, and learn more about the mountain’s history and ecosystems.
In the afternoon, after your lunch, we’ll continue the trek for another couple of hours, heading towards the Horombo Hut at an elevation of around 3,700 meters. This area offers magnificent views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks and is a great spot for photos. Here, you’ll take a short break to absorb the surroundings and appreciate the stunning vistas. Afterward, we begin our descent back down to the park gate, where our driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel. We will return in the late evening, and your adventure on Kilimanjaro will be complete.
